St. Teresa
Peace and Good! Although her feast is not liturgically celebrated today, it was good to pray to Teresa and honor her memory. Her story is so different from Francis of Assisi, yet they were alike in ways too. But I like best her bookmark: Nada te turbe, nada te espante, quien a Dios tiene, nada le falta. Solo Dios Basta (Let nothing disturb you, nothing affright you, whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices). God bless!

Hi Rashfriar,
Thanks for bringing up St Teresa. I'm very fond of the spirituality of the Discalced Carmelite mystics. She was a powerful and driven figure. They say that Fray Juan Del La Cruz was one of the few men who could stand up to the force of her personality.
I also find Bernini (the sculptor) to be an interesting character. This sculpture of St Teresa and certain other ones he did have undeniable sensual and even erotic undertones to them. I often wonder how Bernini's work was perceived in its day. It seems that there was an element in the Church that must have been tolerant of what he was trying to put across. I see no way they could have wound up in chapels otherwise.
